Email Reports

Reports give you and your team a regular overview of your backup activity — delivered straight to your inbox. You choose when to send them and which servers to include.

Creating a report

  1. Go to Reports in the sidebar and click New Report.
  2. Give the report a name (e.g. Weekly Production Summary).
  3. Add one or more email recipients.
  4. Select the servers to include.
  5. Choose the analysis period and delivery schedule.
  6. Click Create Report.

Analysis period

The analysis period controls how far back hetsnap looks when summarising your backup activity. Available options: 1, 3, 7, 14, or 30 days.

For example, a weekly report with a 7-day analysis period will summarise all snapshots created in the past week.

Delivery schedules

Reports support the same daily, weekly, and monthly schedule options as backup schedules — you can enable multiple on a single report.

Daily

Sends the report every day at the time you specify (in UTC).

Weekly

Sends the report on the weekdays you choose, at the time you specify.

Monthly

Sends the report on the first or last day of each month.

Multiple recipients

You can add as many email addresses as needed. All recipients receive the same report. This is useful for keeping a team, a client, or an ops channel in the loop without additional configuration.

What the report contains

Each report email includes:

  • A summary of snapshots created during the analysis period (server name, creation time, size).
  • Total storage used across all included servers.
  • Any snapshot errors or failures during the period.

Editing or deleting a report

Open the report from the list and click Edit to change recipients, schedule, or server selection. To stop sending a report, delete it — existing snapshots are unaffected.
